Delegates solidly behind Papa Owusu-Ankomah

Bolgatanga, June 24, GNA- Many delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East and Upper West Regions have expressed their unflinching support for Papa Owusu-Ankomah, one of the aspiring Presidential candidates of the Party and said they would stand solidly behind him to win the Presidential slot of the Party by voting for him at the Party’s congress.

They made the remark when the aspirant toured the regions to announce to the delegates his intention to contest for the Presidential slot of the party and to canvas for support.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) most of the delegates from the two regions expressed their support for Papa Owusu-Ankomah and said he was the right candidate and had all it is to make the party retain power.

The delegates cautioned their fellow delegates in the various regions to critically examined properly and study the right candidate capable of leading the Party to victory.

Outlining some of the qualities of Papa Owusu-Ankomah, the delegates said in 1996 the Party capture 6 seats in Western and Central Regions, and in 2000 it had 9 and 8 for Western and Central Regions but in 2004 the aspirant was able to turn the fortune of the party around by wining 12 and 16 seats in the Western and Central Regions respectively.
