Delegates for the NDC Congress urged to ensure mature conduct

Kumasi, Jan. 14, GNA – A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Gado Sulemana, has appealed to delegates for the party’s national congress to conduct themselves well to safeguard internal peace and cohesion. The interest of the party should override factionalism and individual selfish agenda. He reminded delegates that they have a responsibility to ensure that the NDC came out of the congress more united and formidable to champion the cause of Ghanaians.

Alhaji Gado, speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, said he was troubled by what appears to be polarization of the party. The ruling NDC holds its national congress in Tamale from Friday to Sunday and more than 3,000 delegates would be electing new national executives who would steer the affairs of the party for the next four year.

He asked the delegates to vote for people, who understand the party’s ideology and would help it to deliver on its election promises. Alhaji Gado said they should “avoid people, who would create confusion and hatred and frustrate the implementation of the party’s development agenda.”

He urged the leadership of the party to team up and to work to uplift the socio-economic conditions of Ghanaians. He also drew attention to the need for the nation to continue to pray for peace, especially in the three northern regions. 14 Jan. 10
