DCEs Have Not Been Sacked, But Redeployed

The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, says the four District Chief Executives (DCEs) who were reported to have been removed from office have not been sacked but rather redeployed. ” We have not removed them, they have not done things which merit sacking” he explained.

“ When you assign people to various tasks, with time you assess them, they may be doing well but could perform better at other places” he added.

Mr. Adjei-Darko submitted that it is a dynamic institution that calls for assessment at various times describing the action as a reshuffle.

“It’s just like a cabinet reshuffle”. Asked whether their performance was below expectation as DCE’s, the Minister who did not want to commit himself just reiterated “we want to put them at places where they will perform better”.

The four DCEs are Akwensivie Asorwor, Kpando District Assembly; Daniel Kwadu Eworyi, South Tongu; Sam Akati Mahama, Bole and Samuel Blagodzi of Nkwanta.
