DCE speaks of smear campaign against him

Kade (E/R), May 19, GNA – Mr Yaw Yiadom-Boakye, Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive, has deplored what he termed the distortion of facts and mis-information about him and the district assembly by some journalists in the private media.

He deplored as “disheartening and a matter of concern, the way some journalists in the private media, with the collaboration of some individuals in the district”, had resorted to both verbal and written attacks on him as an individual and the Assembly as a whole. Addressing the District Assembly, the DCE described the attacks as “meant to erode our hard-earned reputation”.

He explained that the modus operandi was to publish or broadcast whatever information their collaborators gave them without getting his or the assembly’s view on the issues.

Mr Yiadom-Boakye, therefore, used the platform to assure those journalists and their collaborators that “no amount of their malicious attack” on him and the assembly would deter them from pursuing their development agenda for the district.

He stated that his doors were widely open to any journalist who was desirous of seeking the truth on any issues before publishing them.
