Tolon (N/R), Feb 18, GNA – Mr Abubakari Baako Alhassan, the acting Tolon/Kumbungu District Chief Executive (DCE), has said the government would continue to provide the needs of the people under its “Positive Change Chapter Two” to justify the confidence the people had reposed in it.
“The NPP government will not abandon or halt projects because a particular community did not vote for it but would provide the development needs of all Ghanaians to indicate that the government has the welfare of the people at heart”.
The DCE was addressing journalists after inspecting projects that the district assembly initiated during the first four years of the NPP administration.
The projects were the construction of six-unit classroom blocks at Badariya, Kulli, Walshe and Zangballung at a total cost 736 million cedis.
The others were 250 million cedis’ police station each at Tolon and Nyankpala and a 180-million-cedi semi-detached bungalow for police personnel at the Tolon station.
Mr Baako also inspected a 1.75-billion-cedi rehabilitated dam at Talli and a water pump delivers water from the dam for use by the people of Talli and its surrounding communities.
The assembly assisted some students in the university as a means of promoting quality education in the district and provided 1,500 dual desks.
“Now through the GETFund, additional JSS and a primary school buildings had been built at the cost 505 million cedis”, he said. 18 Feb 05
