DCE promises to pursue open door policy

Kumasi, July 14, GNA – Mr Iddisa Adams, Kwabre East District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Ashanti Region, has promised an open-door policy. He said he wanted people to contribute meaningfully to his administration and for the development of the district. According to him, anyone within the district regardless of his or her political affiliation was welcomed to bring suggestion or point out mistakes in his administration so as to foster unity and sustainable development of the district.

Mr Adams, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), at Mamponteng on Monday said he would devote greater attention to education, health, agriculture, roads, water and sanitation development. The DCE indicated that the ability of the Assembly to carry out its developmental projects depended on its ability to generate resources internally and noted that the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) would be given much prominence.

He expressed worry at the falling standards of education in the district and promised to liaise with the District Directorate of Education to address the issue.

On health, Mr Adams said, he would work in collaboration with the District Health Services to improve health delivery system and ensure that the district gets a modern hospital.

Mr Adams said the poor road network in the district would also be improved to facilitate the free movement of goods and services while improving on sanitation to benefit the District. He advised assembly members to make information available during assembly meetings to the doorstep of the people in order to be abreast with matters arising at the district level.
