DCE inaugurates school block

Adenkrebi (G/A), March 3, GNA- Mr Samuel Nii Ayeetey Attoh, District Chief Executive for Ga District has inaugurated three- classroom block estimated at 154 million cedis at Adenkrebi in the Ga District. The project the fifth of its kind in the district was assisted by the European Union (EU) with 60 million cedis grant while the Assembly contributed 94 million cedis.

Mr Attoh congratulated the European Union (EU) for its valuable support and concern over the years in the area of poverty reduction in the country.

He said the EU has demonstrated serious commitment in addressing pertinent development issues in the District specifically in the provision of educational facilities such as school blocks. Mr Attoh said the communities ” are equally duty bound to mobilize communal labour to undertake development projects and other programmes which will improve their living standards.

Mr Attoh said the building should be seen as a property of the community and not of the Assembly’s or government, therefore “its maintenance must be first and foremost the priority of the community”. Mr Patrick Nortey Yebuah, Presiding Member of the Assembly, also commended the EU for its assistance including the provision of Teachers quarters.

He appealed to teachers to be disciplined for children who are the future leaders to emulate them.
