DCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai elected NPP parliamentary candidate

Bibiani (W/R), Nov. 10, GNA- Mr Christopher Addae, District Chief Executive for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai was last Thursday elected the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the 2004 elections. He polled 85 votes out of the 141 votes cast to beat Mr Awotwe Nkansah, an educationist in the primaries, supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Addressing the delegates prior to the elections, Mr Peter Mac Manu, the Western Regional Chairman of the NPP, advised the delegates to ensure a peaceful election since petty internal squabbles did not augur well for the development of the party.

He expressed regret at what happened at Sefwi-Wiawso constituency recently where violence disrupted a similar election and called for peace, understanding and unity in the party.

Mr Addae expressed his appreciation to the delegates for electing him and promised to work relentlessly to wrestle the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the first time in the 2004 election.
