New Edubiase (Ash), Aug 23, GNA – Mr Francis Dorpenyoh, Adansi South District Chief Executive (DCE), has expressed worry that ethnicity is gradually creeping into the district because he and the Member of Parliament both belong to one ethnic group.
He described as unfortunate claims that the district was under the control of the Ewes because he and the MP, Mr Ernest Kofi Yakah, belong to that ethnic grouping.
The DCE cautioned those propagating the falsehood to stop raising ethnic tension in the district, saying they took office to serve the entire community, made up of various ethnic groups. Mr Dorpenyoh raised this concern at a non-denominational thanksgiving service organised for him at New Edubiase on Sunday. The Reverend Father Lawrence Owusu-Afriyie, Parish Priest of the Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church at New Edubiase, called on DCEs to regard themselves as servants of the people.
He said as DCEs, they must be accessible to the people and not become masters and lords unto themselves demanding respect from the people.
