DCE commission projects

Abura Edukrom (C/R), April 12, GNA – Mr Andrew K. Mensah, District Chief Executive for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese commissioned a 45-million cedi electrification project and a place of convenience at Abura Edukrom.

It was part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary celebration of the Abura Edukrom Improvement Association on Saturday at Edukrom. The projects were funded through voluntary contributions of 10,000 cedis a man and 6,000 cedis a woman for citizens abroad and 6,000 cedis a man and 4,000 cedis a woman for those resident in the town.

Mr Mensah commended the people for their communal spirit and asked them to initiate more aself-help projects to improve their standard of living.

He assured the people that the Assembly would support them in their developmental efforts and appealed to them to embrace the National Service Scheme for better health delivery.

On the 2004 Elections, he asked the people to eschew acrimony and violence and to tolerate the views of their political opponents to ensure a free and peaceful elections.

Miss Kate Etrue, Assemblywoman for Amosima/Edukrom electoral area, appealed to the people to participate in communal labour to bring more development to the town.

Mr Takyi Mensah, secretary of the association, said the association had contributed to the development town and thanked the Cape Coast Roman Catholic Secretariat for assisting in the construction of the place of convenience.
