DCE commends President Kufuor for creation of Adansi North district

Adansi-Asokwa (Ash), Dec 4, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor has been commended highly for not only creating the new Adansi North district but also making use of structures, hitherto abandoned in the bush to set up the Fomena Community Nursing Training Institution. Mr Kwabena Ameyaw, the first District Chief Executive, who gave the commendation at community durbars organized in his honour in the district, noted that what the President had done needed to be appreciated by the people of Adansi traditional area. He said the creation of the district was going to facilitate the development of the communities.

The DCE, who was particularly impressed about the nursing training school, invited the communities to go and see the massive development there, adding, “But for President Kufuor, those imposing structures which were to become a hospital would have been taken over by bushes”. Mr Ameyaw, however, urged parents in the district to take key interest in the education of children so that the district could derive direct benefit from the nursing school by way of getting their children enrolled.

The DCE said the country had started benefiting from the good policies of the government and therefore appealed to the people to exercise restraint and support it.

“Now we are enjoying a number of facilities free including free medication for pregnant women, free basic education, free inputs for oil palm cultivation under the President’s Special Initiative”, he enumerated.

Mr Ameyaw added that the assembly was going to start a Youth in Employment Programme with 500 youth and that this number would be increased to 1,000 next year. He advised the various communities to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme. 04 Nov 05
