DCE commends EU

Amasaman (G/A), Jan. 5, GNA – Mr. Nii Aryeetey Attoh, Ga District Chief Executive at the weekend commended the European Union (EU) for the provision of educational infrastructure in the district. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after the district assembly’s first ordinary meeting at Amasaman, Mr Attoh said three schools, constructed by the EU have already been commissioned in three communities in the district.

The communities which have benefited with the EU assistance are Bortianor, Dedeiman and Ashaladja. The schools have a three-unit classroom block, an office and a store and were built at the cost of 146.3 million cedis each.

Mr Attoh said the other three yet to be commissioned were Adenkrebi, three-unit classroom block with an office and a store, Early Childhood Development Centre at Amasaman and rehabilitation of a store at St. Johns Grammar School.

Dr. Kwaku Sarfo, Programme Officer of the EU said the organisation would still continue with its developmental projects in the area. He later called on the people to continue with their self-help communal spirit to support the EU to implement its projects.
