DCE calls on parents to assist

Nkoranza (B/A), April 1, GNA – Mr. James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, Nkoranza South District Chief Executive, has urged parents to collaborate with teachers in the academic training and development of their children.

He expressed regret about how some parents allowed their children to engage in unhealthy practices that could ruin their lives. Mr. Appiah-Awuah who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza advised parents to monitor the movements of their children to steer them away from social vices.

He said the only worthy legacy that parents could bequeath to their children was education and appealed to teachers in the district to redouble efforts to help improve the standard of education in the area. He gave the assurance that the district assembly would not relent in supporting teachers to perform to expectation.

Mr. Appiah-Awuah said the assembly provided GHC 7,000 towards the organization of the best teacher’s award ceremony at which more than 200 teachers received prizes.

“The assembly recently donated GHC 3,000 towards the conduct of the common mock examination for Junior High School final year students.
