DCE calls for more support

Asankragwa (W/R), March 20, GNA- Mr. Alberto Takyi, District Chief Executive for Wasa Amenfi West in the Western Region has called on the chiefs and people, the clergy and heads of department and educational institutions to work together to lift the area from its current poor state.

He was addressing a colourful parade of school children, security services, voluntary organizations and political parties to mark the independence golden jubilee at Asankragwa. The DCE assured all that the government would fulfill its promise to tar roads in the town and re-construct the Asankragwa Enchi road this year.

Mr. Takyi deplored the apathetic attitude of some of the people to mattes concerning the progress of the area and urged all to assist to ensure the district’s rapid socio-economic growth. He called for peace and unity, which he said “are vital in discharging our obligations to our dear country to the best of our abilities”. 20 March 07
