DCE bemoans increased immorality in the country

Nyinahin (Ash), March 13, GNA – Mr Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima-Mponua, has bemoaned the increasing social vices such as teenage pregnancy, indiscipline, alcoholism and others among the youth in the country. He noted that in spite of the proliferation of churches in the country, such vices have been on the ascendancy and therefore urged churches to fight against it.

Mr Owusu-Ansah was speaking as a special guest of honour at a camp meeting organized by the Mpasatia circuit of the Methodist Church at Nyinahin at the weekend.

The meeting was under the theme, “Good News of Jesus Christ”. He attributed the causes of immorality to factors like broken homes, illiteracy and the expansion of video centres, and urged the churches to intensify their evangelism to check such practices to transform the society.

Very Rev James Osei, Superintendent Minister in-charge of the church, advised Christians to forge ahead in unity and contribute meaningfully towards the development of the country. He stressed the need for them to respect authority, be law-abiding and forgive one another at all times.
