Daughter of Zion donates to Light House Christian Home

Aburi (ER), June 20, GNA – Daughter of Zion (DOZ) Women’s Fellowship

Ministry of the Harvest Chapel International, has presented items worth about GH¢2,000 to the inmates of the Jamacaso Light House Christian Hom e at Aburi in the Eastern Region.

The group also presented to the children at the Home, a cheque of GH¢1000. The items included boxes of biscuits, cartons of milk and milo, cook ing oil, disinfectants, fruits and beverages, bags of rice, beans, gari, suga r and loaves of bread. Presenting the items on Saturday, Mrs Thelma Odonkor, President of D OZ said it was part of their annual week celebration dubbed: “My Fruit! My Witness”. “As Christian women we believe that we have a responsibility towards

humanity as Jesus’ life on earth depicted,” she added. She said as Christians, they have been called to a life of compassio n not just for the lost but also for the poor and needy in society. “We the Daughters of Zion Ministry deem this donation to the home as a social responsibility and an opportunity to fulfill this purpose of God,”

she said. Mrs Odonkor advised parents especially fathers to endeavour to provid e the basic needs of their children to attend school and refrain from lavis h spending.

“We also take this opportunity to entreat the general public to suppo rt this home in every way possible in this good but challenging work that th ey are engaged in,” she stressed. Mrs Laurene Boateng, an assistant administrator, who received the items, said the outfit established in 2006 by the Light House Chapel International, faces more pressing issues including inadequate facilities at the home. She conducted the members of DOZ round the premises of the Home and said the facility houses about 25 children between the age’s one and 13 years. Mrs Boateng said, “We are very grateful for your kind donation and we

promise to distribute the items to all the children.” She appealed to the public to come to the aid of the Home in every possible way.
