Danny Nettey goes home

Hundreds of sympathisers of the late Gospel legend, Danny Nettey as well as lovers of contemporary gospel music converged at the State House on Saturday in Accra to bid farewell to the musician.

Most of the sympathisers were clad in white clothes signifying Minister Nettey’s call to glory after 47 years on earth.

What may have been a sorrowful day turned out to be a celebration of life of Danny Nettey as many sympathisers danced and praised God for his life.

Several tributes poured in one after the other from fellow gospel musicians and protégés describing him as a warm and jovial personality who was dedicated to making everyone else’s life blissful.

Song ministration by fellow affable Gospel musician Bernice Ofei of her popular song, ‘Life is so short’ brought a sense of reality to everyone around as they were put into a pensive mood.

Joy FM’s Program’s Manager Kofi Ansah recounted Danny Nettey’s first airing of his programme on the channel ‘The Worship Zone’. Danny Nettey had been elated despite having a ‘bumpy’ start, exclaiming how excited he was to share his gift with the entire world.

As the final respects were being paid, one thing was made certain; Danny Nettey was a gift to his generation and the youth of today can draw inspirations from his life.
