Daniel Ofori is dead

The death is reported in Accra of Mr. Daniel Ofori, former Director and Personal Assistant to the Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. He was 62. The late Mr. Ofori began his career with the GBC in May, 1958 as a Reporter in the News Section. He attended a number of courses overseas and covered major assignments, including Mozambique’s Independence celebration in June 1975. The late Mr. Ofori rose through the ranks to become Head of News and Current Affairs in 1986. Three years later, he was appointed Assistant Director of Radio in charge of News. Mr. Ofori, who retired two years ago, acted on two occassions as Director of Radio. He was a former Vice President of the Ghana Journalist Association.
