Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea Selected by CAF for 2025 AFCON in Morocco

Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea has been named among the officials selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

Laryea, one of Africa’s most experienced referees, is the only Ghanaian included on the prestigious list, marking another milestone in his distinguished officiating career.

He has been a regular feature in CAF assignments over the past decade.

His inclusion comes as no surprise to many, given his consistency, professionalism and reputation for maintaining composure under pressure.

Laryea’s selection is seen as a proud moment for Ghanaian football, especially after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament.

He will now carry the country’s flag at Africa’s biggest football event, set to take place later this year in Morocco.
