Dangme East NHIS to commence this month

Ada Foah, May 18, GNA – The Dangme East District will commence the Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) this month, Dr. Justice Adotey Hoffman, District Health Administrator announced on Wednesday. He explained that the scheme could not take off in March as scheduled due to some lapses, including the issuing of identity cards to contributors.

Dr. Hoffman was speaking at a forum held for health officials to facilitate the smooth take-off of the scheme this month. He indicated that ailments requiring special attention would be referred to the Ridge Hospital, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Tema General Hospital.

Medical officers in-charge of the various public health facilities in the district and the coordinator of the District’s Mutual Health Insurance Scheme as well as Dr Hoffman signed documents for the scheme to commence.
