Damongo SHS names hall after Prez Mahama

Authorities of the Damongo Senior High School (SHS), the oldest SHS in Gonjaland on Saturday named one of its halls after President John Dramani Mahama.

This was to recognise the president as the first son of Gonjaland to rise to the highest office of Ghana.

President Mahama, who was at Damongo as part of his visit to the Northern Region, expressed appreciation for the gesture.

The president inspected the Fulfulso-Sawla Road, which is under construction with funding from the African Development Bank.

He climaxed his three-day tour of the Northern, Upper East and Upper Wes Regions by addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the Gonjaland at Damongo.

He thanked them for voting him to power in the December 2012 general election. He said 2013 had been a challenging year but added that government is working hard to ensure that the subsequent years would be better for all.
