Dabo Rehabilitae 12-Kilomtre Road

Dabo (U/W), Aug. 15, – The chief and people of Dabo in the Wa District have rehabilitated portions of the 12-kilometre road linking the town with Dosimon which was washed away during the recent rains. Mr Albert Bonye Venkuba, assemblyman of Dabo, told newsmen that the people undertook to make the road motorable for vehicles to convey foodstuffs from the area to Wa. Mr Venkuba said as an interim measure, the people will carry out periodic maintenance of the road until the contractor resumes work on it after the rains. He called on P and W Ghanem Limited, the contractor, to begin work soon after the rains to prevent the town from cutting away from the rest of the region. It will be recalled that Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, Upper West Regional Minister and officials of the Department of Feeder Roads, inspected the road to assess the extent of damage when portions of it were washed away at the peak of the rainy season in June.
