Mr Isaac Awuku Asare, an aspiring assembly member for Suhum Ahenbronmu Electoral Area, has advised contestants to refrain from using abusive and threatening languages in their campaigns.
Such languages, he said, had the tendency to create chaos and confusion in the elections to be held throughout the country on March 3.
Mr Asare gave the advice when he spoke with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Suhum in the Eastern Region on the upcoming district assembly election.
He said the March 3, 2015 election needed caution on the part of all contestants to avoid creating fear, insecurity and instability.
He said anytime a contestant used an abusive language on an opponent, it led to a reaction in like manner.
“We must use language that brings hope and peace, so that we can continue to develop our localities,” he said, adding, “what is needed is patience and loyalty”.
Mr Asare said all promises he made to the electorate would be fulfilled when elected as the assembly member and appealed to his supporters not to allow detractors to deceive them.
“I believe if I become the assemblyman, I would like to help organise children of school-going age who are not in school, I will take it upon myself to encourage them to go to school,” he said.
The aspirant had earlier effected repair works on some street lights, estimated at about 1800.00 Ghana cedis. The work included providing new lamps, chokes, switches and wires.
He apealed to the Government to assist the area with public toilet and access roads among other things and support the youth to create jobs.
