Curfew in Hohoe renewed from 8pm to 5am

The Minister of the Interior on the advise of the Volta Regional Security Council and by the Executive Instrument, has renewed the curfew imposed on Hohoe township and its environs with effect from Tuesday 21 August, 2012.

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by Mr W.K Aboah, Minister for the Interior, said the new curfew hour is from 2000 hours to 0500 hours.

It urged the chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and people of the area to channel their energies into ensuring the return of lasting peace.

The statement reminded residents of the ban on all persons in the Hohoe township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon and any person found with any weapon would be arrested and prosecuted.
