Culture and Tourism to play key roles in 2010 Volta Trade Fair

Ho, Aug. 11, GNA – Culture and tourism are central to this year’s Volta Trade, Investment and Cultural Fair scheduled for November.

The event would create the right platform for potential investors to have first hand experience and information on the unique and diverse cultural practices and tourism attractions in the region.

Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minister, said this at a press launch of the Fair in Ho on Tuesday.

The Fair is on the theme, “Volta Region: Investors’ Destination.”

All municipalities and district assemblies would therefore feature cultural troupes to display their distinct cultures.

Mr Amenowode said the Fair had gained popularity and needed some cultural blending to make it a wholesome package for investors.

He said the region had huge tourist potentials capable of turning the fortunes of the region positively and these must be displayed for prospective investors.

Mr Amenowode appealed to all stakeholders, including the Centre for National Culture, Ghana Tourist Board and the Municipal and District Assemblies, to use the opportunity to market the region.
