CUA inaugurates chapter house in Kumasi

Afrancho (Ash), Sept. 16, GNA – A Chapter House for the Ashanti Credit Union Association (CUA) has been inaugurated at Afrancho, near Kumasi. It was financed through contributions from 26 out of the 70 chapters of the association in the region. Right Reverend Monsignor Douglas Peters, Vicar-General of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi who performed the ceremony, commended the Ashanti Region chapter for the initiative. Mr D.S.O Annan, immediate past chairman of the Ashanti Region chapter of the union, said total assets of the 70 chapters in the region is 25.5 million Ghana cedis, employs 164 workers and has a membership of 55,586. Dr D.Y Fokuoh, a board member of the Union said the acquisition of the office building was a challenge to other chapters in the country to emulate.
