CUA building Multi-million cedis credit union training centre at Kasoa

Winneba (C/R) Sept. 18 GNA-The Credit Union Association (CUA) of Ghana is constructing a multi-million cedis Credit Union Training Centre at Kasoa in the Central Region to cater for training needs of members at an affordable cost. The General Manager of CUA, Mr. Emmanuel Oduro said this at the Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebration of the Central Region Credit Union at Winneba.

The theme for the celebration was “Micro finance; a tool for job and wealth creation, credit union; making thousands of people grow”. Mr. Oduro said among the programmes being implemented as part of the way forward of CUA is the expansion of the Co-operative and Credit Union Employees Pension Plans to cover employees of other Co-operative Organisations.

He said the CUA would ensure that all credit unions develop and operate with, at least, annual business plans.

The General Manager said that another responsibility of the Association is to explain the importance and benefit of the union to the rural people who, out of lack information of the existence of the union, were being exploited and living with financial difficulties. 18th Sept. 05
