Cripple in custody for kidnapping a Nigerian scrap dealer

Ho, April 23, GNA – A Ho circuit court on Wednesday remanded a cripple for allegedly kidnapping a Nigerian scrap dealer. Kris Nunekpeku’s plea was not taken and would be brought back to the court on May 7.

Police Chief Inspector S.K. Agboadoh told the court that on April 21 Nunekpeku invited one Ahmed Hammah, a Nigerian scrap dealer in Ho, to accompany him (Nunekpeku) to Ashaiman for scraps. He said after the two agreed on the terms of the business, Nunekpeku hired a taxi for the journey.

Chief Inspector Agboadoh said when the taxi was about reaching the Kporvie Barrier near Tsito, Nunekpeku started calling some people on his mobile phone to meet them at a spot along the way. He said Nunekpeku asked the driver of the taxi cab to alight him at the roadside but sensing danger the driver drove to the Tsito Police Station.

The prosecution said the police interrogated Nunekpeku and charged him with the offence.
