Credit System Is Welcome – Ahafo Ano Farmers

Tepa (Ashanti Region), 6 Nov. The District Cocoa, Coffee and Sheanut Farmers Association in the Ahafo Ano North district, has welcomed the government’s decision to give farming implements on credit to farmers. At a meeting held at Tepa yesterday which was attended by representatives of farmers associations, the members unanimously called on the government to extend the repayment period of the credit from one year to three years. The farmers believe this will enable them to make full payment to the government. The District Chief Farmer, Nana M. O. Fordjour, called on the farmers to honour their obligations to enable the government to buy more implements for farmers. He warned farmers to desist from dodging societies who supplied the implements to them.
