PRESS RELEASE

The Youth wing of Convention Peoples Party having taken time to observe and analyze the conduct and statements of Hon. Kennedy Agyepong, wish to express our grave concern and unreservedly condemn the incendiary comments coming from a member of parliament who should have envisaged the consequences that comes with such ethno-centric hate pronouncements.
We further wish to call for the immediate resignation of the Member of Parliament for Assin North, Hon. Kennedy Agyepong. Having descended this low into this blatant unparliamentary behaviour, we have no reservation that his resignation would be in the national interest. This would also ensure that, the office of honourable members of parliament is not brought into disrepute as depicted.
We join all well meaning Ghanaians and civil societies in condemning the genocidal statements and the subsequent promotion of hate for other tribes in our country. The Convention Peoples Party continue to make fortified its believe in a United Ghana with a common destiny. It is in this vein that we equally condemn such reckless statements made by others personalities within the NDC.
Ghana, under the CPP government, had seen a total national cohesion which led to inter-marriages amongst ethnic groups across the country. This has set the foundations of Nationalism which encourages citizens to protect the hall marks of Ghana which are peace and hospitality.
As far as we are concerned war has no place in our national aspirations; Hon. Kennedy Agyapong contradicts this in no uncertain terms. We insist here and now that he has lost every moral authority to hold himself as one of the representatives of the people in the Parliament House of Ghana.

Signed.
