CPP youth to follow up on Mahama Ford gift saga at CHRAJ today

The Youth League of the Convention People’s Party(CPP) will today pay a working visit to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAJ) to follow up on developments in relation to a petition presented to the commission over Mahama Ford gift saga.

According to them, the visit is crucial to enable them be fully informed on the current state of the petition brought to the doorstep of the commission and the subsequent letters to the President demanding a response from him.

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) wrote to President John Mahama this week for his response to allegations of conflict of interest levelled against him by some political parties.

The letter, dated July 7, 2016, is in line with the (Investigations Procedure) Regulations, 2010 (CI) 67.

According to sources at CHRAJ, the President has 10 days after the date of the receipt of the letter to give his response.

However, notwithstanding government’s receipt of the letter, the Head of the CPP Youth League, Hardi Yakubu contends today’s visit is just procedural.
