CPP will not enter into electoral pact

Essikado (W/R), Nov. 21, GNA – Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the presidential candidate of the Convention People’ Party (CPP), has reaffirmed that the party had no intention to enter into any form of alliance with any political party in the upcoming election.

He said previous electoral pacts served as an eye opener because such pacts were not beneficial to the cause of the CPP.

Dr. Nduom said this when he addressed a well-attended meeting of chiefs and queens of Ahanta at Essikado near Sekondi on Thursday. “We now have the strength and capacity to go it alone and win”, he said and added that after his campaign tour of all the constituencies in the country, he was convinced that CPP has the brightest chance to win political power again.

He urged party supporters and sympathizers to continue with their vigorous campaign to win more support for the party. Dr. Nduom appealed for support from the traditional leaders, saying he was the best “among the other qualified presidential candidates” to turn around the fortunes of the country. “With all humility, I believe that I am the best among the other qualified candidates to occupy the Flag Staff House as the next president.”

Dr. Nduom said he had the experience and what it takes to lead the country to achieve peace, harmony and prosperity and also development in all sectors of the economy. A CPP administration, he said, would re-design and re-develop the Western Region into modern communities to befit its status as a resource rich area.

It would also revive and support idle factories that were built during the first republic to provide jobs for the youth and also improve the road network in the region. Dr. Nduom said a world class museum and a library in memory of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah would be build at Nkroful and Half-Assini to boost tourism.

He appealed to the electorate to vote massively for the CPP, saying they would only waste their ballots if they voted for either the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
