CPP Western Regional Executives want Chairman sacked

Two thirds of the Western Regional Executives of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has passed a resolution to remove the Regional Chairman, Nana Mireku Tumi II.

According to the group, the Regional Chairman has failed to account for the total income and expenditure for last year’s fund-raising, and has also failed to call for a regional executive committee meeting since November 2015.

They also believe that he being a Chief and Bamuhene of Akim Achwreso traditional council in the Eastern Region under the stool name Nana Meriku Tumi II, violates the constitution as chiefs are barred from partisan politics.

The majority of the Western Regional Executives are calling for his resignation with immediate effect and hand over the entire necessary documents to the regional first vice chairman.
