CPP selects candidate for Dome/Kwabenya

Accra, Sept. 15, GNA – The Convention People’s Party (CPP) Dome/kwabenya constituency, on Sunday unanimously acclaimed Mrs. Emelia Osei as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency for the parliamentary elections in December, at Kwabenya.

A statement issued by Mr. Anthony Amuzu, the CPP constituency secretary, indicated that at the close of filing of nominations on August 29 2008, the 36-year-old business woman, was the only person who had filed to contest the position.

It said the election was supervised by Mr.Kingsly Owusu-Ansah, district electoral officer, and was witnessed by CPP National and Regional executives.

The statement said Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, flag bearer of the party, who was present at the event, tasked polling station executives of the constituency to ensure that the CPP slogans “Edwumaara” and “Yeresesamu” gets down to the people at the grassroots to ensure victory for the party in the 2008 Election.
