Accra, Oct 30, GNA – Dr Edmund Delle, National Chairman and Leader of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), on Saturday appealed to Ghanaians to ignore the continuity message being propagated by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said the only legacy the NPP had bequeathed to the people is poverty, unemployment and misery and urged the electorate to vote massively for CPP.
The CPP Chairman, who was speaking to the GNA in Accra, advised the electorate not to allow themselves to be influenced by material inducements to vote against their conscience.
“Ghanaians would be committing a serious political blunder if they should vote for the NPP in the presidential and parliamentary elections.”
Dr Delle said CPP had drawn up pragmatic programmes to solve the numerous problems affecting health, education and agriculture when voted into power.
He said the time had come for Ghanaians to again change the political leadership and governance of the country to bring hope to the suffering masses.
The CPP, he said, was the only political party that had the vision, manpower and ability to ensure proper governance of the country and urged the youth to unite and support it to win the elections. He said the cash and carry system, high cost of agricultural inputs and education, “are testimonies that the NPP government has no concern for the welfare of the people”.
“Only the few people, who have been placed in high positions, are enjoying at the expense of the majority.”
Dr Delle, therefore, called on the electorate to vote for CPP to enable it to implement its human-centred policies to ensure socio-economic advancement of the country.
