CPP retains executives in Upper West Region

Wa, Nov. 18, GNA – The Upper West Regional Executive Committee of Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP) was retained at its regional delegates congress held in Wa.

The decision to retain them was to keep the party united to work hard to win more votes for the party during the 2008 general elections. The retained executive members were, Mr Abu Mumuni, Upper West Regional Chairman, Mr Issah Mohammed, First Vice Chairman and Mr Mustapha Seidu, Second Vice Chairman. The rest were, Mr Mohammed Gado, Secretary, Mr Issifu Liman, Organiser, Madam Ajara Sani, Women’s Organiser, Mr Seidu Kassim, Treasurer, Mr Abu Nuru, Education Secretary and Mr Hissan Nurideen, Youth Organiser.

Mr Mumuni on behalf of the executives expressed appreciation for the trust and confidence reposed in them and pledged to work harder to ensure victory for CPP in the region. He appealed for logistics, especially means of transport to facilitate movement of the executives to the communities to canvass for votes.

Dr Edmund Delle, National Chairman of CPP, said the party was well placed to take over power from the New Patriotic Party and urged the executives to put in their best to make the dream a reality. He said CPP was the only political party that would salvage the national economy and bring back smiles to the people, saying a vote for the CPP was a vote for a prosperous Ghana. Professor Nii Noi Dawuona, General Secretary of CPP urged the executives to close their ranks and work in unity to ensure victory for the party in 2008.

Four Presidential Aspirants of the CPP Dr Kwaku Osafo, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosah, Mr Bright Akwetey and Mr George Oposika Aggudey attended the congress.
