CPP/PNC in talks to merge before December polls

The leadership of the CPP and the PNC are in talks towards a possible merger of the two parties before the December elections.

Some political analysts have opined that a merger between the two parties is not possible with less than three months for the December polls.

But speaking to XYZ News, Communications Director of the CPP Nii Armah Akomfrah said the leadership of the two parties is committed to the merger.

Nii Akomfrah dismissed speculations that the two parties have already merged saying talks are far advanced.

He said the parties will officially communicate to the public when the merger pulls through.

“We are committed on the merger but we have not made any announcement on that. The willingness and the commitment is there but I don’t believe that we have made any announcement” Nii Armah Akomfrah said.
