CPP is a new future for Ghana – Sakara

The Presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Dr Abu Sakara and his running mate Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah have moved their campaign to the Western Region to win more votes ahead of the December 7 elections.

The CPP flagbearer and his running mate began their visit to the region with a call on Nana Kobina Nketsia V, Omanhene of Essikado Traditional Area. Dr Sakara said that the CPP cannot tour the area without first introducing itself to the Chief and his elders, and to seek advice, blessing and spiritual reinforcement.

He said there is a new future for the party and the country, and the CPP had a track record of excellent leadership and will “Make Ghana Work Again”. He added that the party was the midwife of Ghana and would thus not do anything to harm the security of the country. Dr Sakara said that the CPP would usher in a period of transformation with sustainable and meaningful development.

Nana Akosua Frimpongmaa Sarpong Kumankuma said that traditional rulers had the welfare of the people at heart and should be at the helm of affairs in the country. She said further that the CPP seeks to develop our human resource and alleviate poverty.

The CPP Chair Hon Samia Yaba Nkrumah said that the CPP would never give up on its mission and ideals and with the support of Ghanaians the party would come back to government.

Nana Nketsia said Ghana would have been transformed into an economic giant like China if it had followed Nkrumah’s ideals. He said Nkrumah was the only leader who had left power penniless and did not dip his hands into state coffers.

Nana Nketsia expressed confidence in the current leadership of the CPP, with Dr Sakara showing the commitment and vision of Nkrumah.

He appealed to all to live up to the standards of morality, hard work and dedication of Dr Nkrumah.

Dr Sakara met and addressed CPP Parliamentary Candidates in the Region including Hon Samia Yaba Nkrumah – Jomoro , K. Ackah Quarm – Evalue Gwira, Anthony Ackah – Ahanta West, Henry Solor – Sekondi, Ankomah Appiah – Wassa West, Samora Appiah – Prestea Huni Valley, Raymond Jones – Amenfi West, Isaac Gyasi – Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai and Khadija Nkrumah – Juaboso.

Dr Sakara told them that they were on the verge of history and that their hard work and sacrifice this year will secure many more seats in the region for the CPP.

He delivered additional posters, flags and new motorbikes to the candidates and charged them to return to their constituencies and win their seats for CPP.

The CPP visiting team accompanying the Flagbearer and the running mate included Ivor Kobbina Greenstreet – General Secretary; Rodaline Imoru-Ayarna – 2nd National Vice Chair; Kwame Jantuah – Deputy General Secretary and Presidential Campaign Spokesman; Hajia Hamdatu Haruna – National Women’s Organiser and 18 CPP Parliamentary Candidates.
