CPP holds Stakeholders Meeting

Wassa Akropong (W/R), Aug 4, GNA- The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has held a stakeholders meeting at Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East District to deliberate on the impending Amenfi East Constituency branch elections.

Supporters of the party came from various towns in the Constituency including Abiso Gyaaman, Japa Dewurampong, Aburokyire Krobo, Afransie, Bawdie, and Oppong Valley.

Addressing the meeting Mr. Samuel Gordon Etroo, Western Regional Chairman said, the CPP does not discriminate and is not selective and that it belongs to all Ghanaians and called for their support. He told the supporters to welcome everybody irrespective of ones political leaning in the country.

Mr. Etroo said, CPP would not disappoint the people but would implement what it proposes.

Mr. Kwabena Tumi, Western Regional Organiser of the CPP said the meeting was fruitful one which would help strengthen the party structures at the grass root in the area. He advised the various leaders to select committed delegates for the election and urged members to study the constitution of the party and work within the ambit of it. Mr. Chris Nkrumah, Western Regional Youth Organiser of the party debunked the notion that CPP is made up of the aged, saying, there is a new wind of youthfulness blowing in the party and it urged members to work hard for results.

He said the turnout of the youth at the meeting was encouraging and advised them to “keep the flame of the party burning”. Mr Nkrumah told the youth not to rest on their oars, but rather win more people for the party. Nana Kwabena Gyan, Western Regional Education Secretary said it is unacceptable to conclude that all the parties are the same saying when it comes to managing the state, the performance of CPP is distinct. Mr. Stephen Essuah, a leading member of the party advised members not to sway their support to other parties. Those who spoke at the meeting included Mr. Kofi Alozuke Western Regional Secretary of CPP and Alaji Mamudu Zakari Wassa Amenfi East Constituency Chairman of the CPP.
