CPP elects Parliamentary Candidate for Krachi East

Koforidua, Aug. 15, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Kofi Boateng, a graduate teacher, had been elected by popular acclamation as the Convention People’s Party (CPP) parliamentary aspirant for Krachi East.

Mr Leonard Tinkorang, constituency chairman, told the delegates before the acclamation that by the close of nomination only Mr Boateng had filed his nomination to contest the seat. Mr Boateng said he was privileged to be given the chance to contest the seat on the ticket of the party and promised to work hard to win the seat for the party.

He told the jubilant supporters that if voted for, he would work to ensure that the communities along the Volta Lake that had not been paid compensation when the Akosombo Dam was built received it. On education, Mr Boateng said an endowment fund for education would be created to support Senior High School Students in the constituency.
