CPP delegates root for Bright Akwetey

Some delegates of Convention Peoples Party (CPP) have described Mr Bright O. Akwetey as a unifier with capabilities to pursue an all-inclusive policy in restructuring the Party.

They said these qualities would make the CPP vibrant and capable of winning Election 2016.

The delegates including regional and constituency told the Ghana News Agency that the unification of the Party is very necessary for the advancement of the political ambitions of the CPP as it cannot in this crucial moment elect a leader with witch hunting and divisive agenda.

Speaking under the condition of anonymity many said the CPP under the Leadership and Chairmanship of Professor Edmund N. Delle needs a transformational flag bearer who is battle ready and incorruptible to win Election 2016.

Many were of the view that Mr Akwetey has stood the test of time; contested Elections 2008 flag bearership race and lost to Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom who later left the party to form Progressive Peoples Party.

Again Mr Akwetey contested Elections 2012 Flag bearership race and lost narrowly to Dr Michael Abu Sakara Foster who has also left the CPP to contest Elections 2016 as an independent candidate.
