Court sentences man for stealing an amplifier

A 21-year-old unemployed has been ordered to be kept in jail for 36 months by the Juaso Circuit Court for stealing an amplifier valued at GHc269.00.

Frank Opoku broke into a drinking spot at Obogu in the Asante-Akim South District and stole the item.

He pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful entry, causing unlawful damage and stealing.

Police Inspector Mannaseh Obimpe told the court presided over by Mr. Alex Obeng Asante that the convict was caught in the act of carting away stolen drinks and the amplifier from the “Anadwo Ye De” spot at about 0130 hours on July 27.

They confronted him and he attempted to flee but was arrested and handed over to the police.
