Court remands two persons for cable theft

Takoradi, July 7, GNA 97 A Takoradi Circuit Court on Wednesday remanded two persons for stealing telephone cables belonging to Vodafone.

John Eshun, a fisherman and Joseph Tetteh, a welder, pleaded not guilty and they will reappear on July 19.

Inspector Victoria Tibson told the court presided over Mr. Kwasi Boakye that on May 30 a taxi driver spotted the accused cutting cables behind the Urban Roads offices at Sekondi and stopped.

The driver arrested Eshun but Tetteh escaped and was later arrested at a drinking spot.

Inspector Tibson said the management of Vodafone was informed about the theft and identified the cables as theirs which cost GHc25, 000.
