Court remands three for damaging road grader

Breman Esuokor (C/R), May 18, GNA-A Breman Asikuma District Magistrate’s court has remanded three welders from Assin Fosu in police custody for causing damage to a grader machine belonging to a Cape coast based road contractor. The plea of Kodjo Akwa, Kwame Amenyo and Anthony Kwarteng were not taken and were ordered by the court to reappear on May 22, 2007. Police Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh of the Asikuma Police Command, prosecution told the court, presided over by Miss Cynthia Hammond that on May 14, 2007, the police had information that some people were cutting the machine that had developed some fault into scraps. The prosecution said the policemen went to the scene, arrested them and charged them with the offence. He said during police investigation it came out that one Augustine who master-minded the crime is on the run and police had mounted a search for him. 18 May 07
