Court remands three armed robbers

Kuntanase (Ash), Sept 15, GNA- The Magistrate Court at Kuntanase, last Thursday remanded into prison custody, three well diggers suspected of raiding a house at Nkwanta, near Jachie by force of arms. The pleas of Kofi Appiah, Moses Oduro and Kwame Nti, were not taken and they will re-appear on September 16.

Police Inspector Thomas Bossman Tuffour, told the Court that on August 24, this year, Nana Yaw, the complainant, contracted Kofi Appiah and his two accomplices to dig a well in his house. He said a week after the project three armed robbers, stormed the house and made away with a brief case containing clothes, Video Cassette recorder, a Video Compact Disc and Digital Video Disc players, two mobile phones and 200,000 cedis cash.

He said upon a tip off, the suspects were arrested by the Abuakwa police and handed over to the Jachie police. Insp. Tuffour said a search conducted by the police discovered some of the stolen items in the rooms of Appiah and Nti.
