Court remands teenager for defiling 13-year old girl

Juaso (Ash), Aug 13, GNA – A circuit court at Juaso on Wednesday remanded a 19-year-old teenager in prison custody for defiling a 13-year-old girl.

Kwasi Obeng who pleaded not guilty will re-appear on August 22. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) K.O. Dompreh told the court presided over by Mr Jacob B. Boon that both the accused and victim came from Achiase and that the victim was a friend Obaa Yaa, Obeng’s sister.

He said at about 2000 hours on July 3, this year, the victim visited Obaa Yaa and while there, the accused proposed love to her and she consented.

ASP Dompreh said the accused sent the victim to his room and had sex with her.

The prosecutor said the brother of the victim informed their mother that the girl was seen in the company of Obeng but when the woman went to the house of Obeng she did not find them (victim and accused) there. ASP Dompreh said the girl told the mother the next day that she had sex with Obeng. The prosecutor said a medical report confirmed that the victim was sexually abused. 13 Aug. 05
