Court remands gas cylinder thief

Sekondi March 2, GNA- The Sekondi District Magistrate Court has remanded one Baba Nuhu, into prison custody for allegedly stealing four Liquefied Petroleum Gas, cylinders belonging to the Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP). He was accused of stealing a bicycle belonging to Bright Arthur, an employee of BOPP. The plea of the accused who was charged with conspiracy to steal and stealing was not taken and is to reappear on March 17.

Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Andam Okyere said the accused stole the gas cylinders valued at 1.4 million cedis and the bicycle estimated at 600,000 cedis in September last year at BOPP premises at Adum Banso. He said the Police arrested Nuhu upon a tip-off and during interrogation he admitted the offence and led the Police to a hideout where two of the gas cylinders were retrieved.
