Court remands fake soldier in prison custody

Nkawie (Ash), Oct.21, GNA – The Nkawie Circuit Court last Tuesday remanded Kwadwo Agyei, a 20-year-old driver who posed as a soldier into prison custody. The plea of Agyei also known as ‘Allan Cash’ was not taken and would re-appear on October 24.

Police Chief Inspector Ben Antwi told the court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah that on October 2, this year, Agyei was seen in military uniform with a cap at Nkawie parading himself as a soldier. He said some concerned citizens confronted Agyei to find out his mission.

The prosecution said Agyei in turn asked the people whether they did not know the work of a soldier and told them to look at the uniform he was wearing.

Police Chief Inspector Antwi said the people who were suspicious of Agyei’s claim did not believe his story therefore, arrested Agyei and handed him over to the Nkawie police. He said the accused admitted during interrogation that he was a driver and not a soldier and after investigations the accused was charged with the offence.
