Court remands caretaker for causing harm

Mankranso (Ash), June 24, GNA – A magistrate court at Mankranso on Tuesday remanded a 33-year-old caretaker of a cocoa farm at Juaho in the Ahafo-Ano North district of Ashanti in police custody for inflicting cutlass wounds on a colleague. Yaw Zakari plea’s was not taken and will re-appear on July 6.

Police Inspector Edwin Dei-Offei told the court, presided over by Mr. Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on June 16, this year, Zakari accused the complainant, Kwadwo Mensah of having illicit affair with his (accused’s) wife, Abiba Watar alias Nyamekye. He said this resulted in a quarrel and the accused ambushed the complainant on his way to his cottage and inflicted cutlass wounds on him.

Insp. Dei-Offei said the victim was still on admission at the Bechem Government Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
