Court remands butcher for slashing a driver mate wrist

Tema, Dec. 28, GNA – A butcher at Ashaiman who slashed the wrist of a driver’s mate with a knife for insulting his mother has been remanded into custody by the Tema circuit court ‘A’.

Abukari Yakubu pleaded not guilty for causing harm and will reappear on January 5, 2005.

Chief Inspector Sarah Acquah told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that on October 25, 2004, at 2100 hours, there was a misunderstanding between the complainant and the accused, fuelled by an accusation against Yakubu’s mother.

She said the accused held the hand of the complainant, removed a knife from his pocket and slashed his wrist.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment and later a report was made to the police.
